Postgraduate from the Sorbonne University in Filmology, Dramaturgy and Philosophy, specialized in the Arts and Metaphysics, Zaïa Lebtahi is an french native actress, writer-director, stage-director, producer, singer, and composer.
In more than 30 years, she built a strong professional experience in Theater, Film and in the TV Industry.
She wrote and directed numerous of documentaries for the French TV channels ARTE, LA CINQ, FRANCE2/FRANCE3 and TF1 about music, art, culture, children…
She also produced high-rated television shows like 30 Millions d‘Amis and Les Maternelles.
Besides her large expertise in media production, she is also a certified Theater, Philosophy and French teacher.
She received the highest honors by the famous philosopher Marcel Conche for her thesis about Love at the Sorbonne University.
As a preschool teacher specialist, Zaia Lebtahi has also gotten the highest honors for her research, titled «How to teach images in Preschool » and was asked to be published in the Teachers’ Library of the IUFM of Paris.
Zaïa Lebtahi taught in prestigious Lycees such as Jules Ferry or St. Paul in Paris and Le Lycee Français in Los Angeles.
As a professional stage actress, she played in such places as The Festival of Avignon, l’Eglise de la Madeleine, Theatre Mouffetard, Theatre Clavel, Halle St. Pierre, in Paris and in the National Theaters of Lille as well as Bethunes.
After having taught herself, she attended the Jazz Academy of Paris (ARPEJ), became a professional singer and started to write her own music.
She produced her first original album with musicians such as Novi Novog (Prince, Michael Jackson, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Tom waits...), Lee Curreri (Fame), Larry Treawell (Rolling Stones, Angie Bowie, Cindy Lauper…), Steve Reid (Supertramp, Bernard Lavilliers, Angelique Kidjo), John Cartwright (Harry Belafonte) and Pascal Guyon.
Lately, she wrote and directed a personal project with Ricardo Gale (John Malkovitch, Tim Roth, Ted Harris, Isaach De Bankole) titled "Aimer CQFD" (To love QED).
This movie has been screened at the Landmark Theatres in Los Angeles and during the Cannes Festival, and was present in Palm Spring Film, Hamptons and Academy Award International Festivals.
She created her company Zaïa Entertainment Productions in 2013.
